JL Studio Films' Story
JL Studio Films was founded on passion and creativity. Read our story below.

JL Studio Films is a Northern Kentucky-based production company dedicated to producing innovative films that reflect the issues of oneself or society. The company was founded in 2017 by Jackson LaCroix when he created a film for a school project. The following year JL Studio Films reproduced the film to release it in 2018 as well as another film, Halls of Ivy.

After #tagged and Halls of Ivy was released JL Studio Films began working on larger more elaborate films. In December of 2018 The Art of Being Normal, a short film based on the book, was released. Now members of JL Studio Films were proud of their work they entered The Art of Being Normal into their first film festival, The Golden Lion Awards High School Film Festival. Although the film did not win any honors at the festival JL Studio Films has an important film to produce.

In early 2019 members of JL Studio Films pitched an idea for a PSA about Teen Suicide after seeing many stories in the news. With a week to produce the film they completed Teen Suicide Passing the Pain PSA in April of 2019. They entered the film into a local student film festival, The Student Service Film Festival. At the festival members of the audience got to select which film won each category. For the PSA category the film, Teen Suicide Passing the Pain won top honors. After the film won JL Studio Films distributed the film in May of 2019.

Also in May of 2019, JL Studio Films got their first job request. They were asked to produce a film on a script given to them. Early June the film Lost Sins was released.

Over the summer JL Studio Films had the opportunity to work with Randall K. Cooper High School FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) to create a video for their trip to their FBLA Summer Camp. The video was filmed, edited, and given to RCHS FBLA. They enjoyed the video and joined a 3-year journey with JL Studio Films. When RCHS FBLA needs a video they will be coming to JL Studio Films. They came back for a video for their Fall Leadership Conference at NKU and their National Fall Leadership Conference in Washington DC.

In late September, JL Studio Films was approached by NaviGo Scholars to film a documentary over 2019 and 2020 to show their program. Now JL Studio Films will be working on commercial projects to finish off 2019.
